Trail Riding with WSCEVENTS

With no shows planned for this year, there will be several new and different activities available for our riders. Be sure to check back frequently as more details are added.

2008

March 22

The monthly trail ride will leave WSC promptly at 10am. Be sure to get there early so we can leave on time.

April 26 and 27

There will be two rides this weekend and the Saturday ride is a Poker Ride. Hands are $5 and cash prizes based on participation will be awarded to the best hand. Note: You DO NOT have to buy a Poker hand to ride.

Sunday's ride will be a normal ride. Both rides will start promptly at 10am, so get to the WSC early.

May 24

This month's ride will be a Savenger Hunt, and there will be prizes to win. The ride starts promptly at 10am. More details to follow.

June 7 - POSTPONED!

A totally new activity this month is a trail ride competition. More details to follow, but basically you will have 2 five minute periods to complete the two courses. The courses will be on either side of the WSC arena.

Each horse will be given three chances to run the course and if the horse refuses, the rider and horse are disqualified. You will be judged on the time and how well you execute the course.

The cost for the event is $25 per rider. There will be cash prizes of 1st: $250, 2nd $150 and 3rd $100. For these amounts to be awarded, at least 25 riders are required to enter. A maximum of 70 contestants may participate. More information on this event will follow in the next newsletter.

June 28

Regular WSC ride starts at 10am sharp.

July 26

Ride at Fort Mountain Stables - we will leave from the stables at 10 am. People are encouraged to come up and camp. More information in the June newsletter.

August

No rides planned due to the heat and the watering restrictions for horses.

September 13

The Pink Ride 2008 - Come out and "Hit the Trail" for a cure on September 13!

Ride for a Cure to Cancers that affect Women on the beautiful Berry College Wildlife Area.

The ride departs at 10 am and returns by 2 pm. BBQ lunch will be served on the grounds at 2pm for $5 a plate.

Entertainment starting at 11am. A Demonstration of Dressage by Coleen Pridemore and
Cowboy entertainment by Jim Dunham and Doc Stovall of the Booth Western Art Museum and more....

$100 per rider or $150 per family. Herd up your co-workers and friends to sponsor you for the ride of a lifetime, a ride for life.

September 27 and 28

October 25

Regular member ride leaves at 10am sharp.

November 28, 29, and 30

This is the annual Thanksgiving fundraiser ride. The gates open at 1pm on Thursday the 27th for those who are bringing trailers and camping out.

Friday's events start at 1pm with a short ride and a Pot Luck dinner at 6:30pm.
Saturday's ride will leave at 10am and return around 4pm. There will be a dance that starts at 8pm.
Sunday there will be a short ride that leaves at 10am and returns at 2pm.

Cost for this event is $30 per person camping or riding. $10 for day riders and $10 per trailer hook-up. Parent's fee covers children under age 18.

December 6

The annual Christmas Party will be held at 6:30pm. The club will provide the meat. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and a gift for the white elephant gift exchange.
