2011 EVENTS SCHEDULE
The riding trails at Berry College have reopened after the storms!
Berry College trails are once again open to the public. Individuals are advised that using the property for recreation has always been, and continues to be, at their own risk. Due to on-going cleanup from the major storm in late April, and subsequent smaller storms during the summer, users are advised that trees and/or limbs may have damage that is not apparent or visible.
Please report anything you believe may constitute a hazard on the trails to the Land Resources Department at 706-368-6386 or by email to wyeomans@berry.edu. Thank you.
CLUB MEETINGS
- are the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. and are held at the Western Saddle Club. Meetings are a great way to meet other club members and have a say in what goes on at our club.
TRAIL RIDES
- are a great way to meet new friends and enjoy the beautiful Berry College trails. Non-members are welcome to join us for trail rides at a cost of $10 per rider. If you want to join as a member, that $10 can be put towards your annual membership fee.
OBSTACLE COURSE COMPETITIONS
- will include about a dozen challenges and will change some each time. These are timed events and will not have practice times. The cost to enter is $10 per horse and rider combination.
Cash payback will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place if the minimum number of entries is met.

MORE ABOUT THE MARY KAY FOUNDATION
The Cancer Research Grant Program
Feel confident about our donation dollars! 97% of all funds received by the Foundation go directly to recipients, there is only 3% administrative costs. (Most well known cancer charities can only claim 70-85% of funds raised go to work for the cause!)
In May 2010, the Foundation awarded $1.3 million in grants to select doctors and medical scientists focusing on curing cancers that affect women. These 13 recipients from across the United States received a $100,000 grant to conduct cutting-edge research.
Since 1996, the Foundation has given more than $14 million to support this effort. Read about how this research has resulted in breakthroughs, new discoveries and promising research on the Mary Kay Foundation Website.
Who receives the grants?
Grants are awarded each year to researchers at medical schools recommended by the The Mary Kay Foundation Research Review Committee, which is composed of prominent doctors who volunteer their time to help the Foundation select the best recipients across the United States. After reviewing these recommendations, the Board of Directors at the Foundation selects the grant recipients.
